Wildcats Cross Country teams open in Poplar

2016 Harlem Wildcat Cross Country Team

The Harlem Wildcat cross Country team has been very successful the past few seasons qualifying boys and girls teams for the state meet.

Last year Head Coach Hope SpeaksThunder took six boys to the state meet and finished 15th in the team race. She also took five girls where the finished 22nd.

This years team returns several of those athletes as the Wildcats will look to represented again this fall in Kalispell at the State Meet.

Senior Val TalksDifferent was a state qualifier last season and finished 52nd overall. Also back from the state team is senior Denise Stanley and junior Kailee Horn.

The boys also return three runners from last years state team including senior Eron Snow. Snow finished 69th overall and has been a consistent runner for the Wildcats. Also returning for the Wildcats are senior Caleb Grant and sophomore Sam Main.

Senior Isaac Smith will look to help the Wildcats as will newcomers, freshman Lance Little Plume, L'Tia Lawrence and Alex Kirkaldie.

The team will compete for the first time this Saturday when they take part in the Poplar Invitational.

They will then head to Cut Bank for the Time Trial event that features some of the top talent from all over the state. From there they will take part in invitational's in Malta, Frazier, Cut Bank, Glasgow, Hays/Lodge Pole, Havre, Browning and Dodson.

The team will host its own invitational on October 14 as they gear up for the state meet being held in Kalispell this year on October 22.
