The 2016 Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbird Cross Country Team

The volleyball and cross country teams at Hays/Lodge Pole high school have been busy practicing and are ready to compete this fall. Heading up the cross country team is head coach Corey Morgan.

The volleyball team is being led by head coach Tennae Singer. Colette Hawley will assist her.

Out this fall for the cross country team is RayLeigh Kirkaldie, Isaiah Denny, Isaiah RunsAbove, Diana Snow, Maxine Plainfeather, Maddison Plainfeather, Darrellyn BlackWolf and Trinity Plainfeather.

Morgan has a good young group of runners and plenty of potential to qualify as a team on the girls side.

To receive a team score at the state meet three runners must have recorded qualifying times. With the girls having strong numbers it is a distinct possibility.

The boys will need to run well and pick up a new team member during the season to post a team score.

The State C Cross Country meet will be held in Kalispell on Saturday, October 22.

The Thunderbird volleyball team has twelve girls out this fall and will look to be competitive each time out.

Three seniors are on the roster, Maxine PlainFeather, Tori Snell and Kiara Shambo will be looked to for leadership.

Juniors include Darrellyn BlackWolf and, Shajona Brockie. They both will be counted on as well.

A big sophomore class includes RayLeigh Kirkaldie, Heavenlee Sears, Alicia Doney, Latasha Kirkaldie, Aleena Walker and Tahlia Werk. These girls have had success on the court especially at the middle school level.

The lone freshman out this fall is Trinity PlainFeather. The Thunderbirds will begin play this weekend at North Star pre-season invitational tournament.
