The Harlem Wildcats blasted the Poplar Indians in a 46-32 Homecoming win that was nowhere near as close as the final point total might suggest.

The Wildcats got out to the huge start they wanted scoring through the air and on the ground as they raced out to a 24 to nothing lead after 12 minutes of action.

Senior Damon Adams got the scoring started for Harlem as he found the end zone on a 43-yard run. Senor Corbin Brockie added the two-point conversion and Harlem held a quick 8-0 lead.

Senior Tyus Hammett hauled in the 20-yard scoring strike from junior quarterback Tevin Messerly to add to the Wildcat lead.

The pair hooked up on the conversion attempt as Harlem pushed their advantage to 16-0.

Messerly found paydirt near the end of the first quarter as the mobile quarterback used his legs finding the end zone from 54 yards out. Messerly added the conversion himself on the ground for a 24-0 lead entering the second quarter.

Senior fullback Damon Adams sprinted through the Indian defense on his way to a 78 yard touchdown run midway through the second quarter as the onslaught continued. Messerly then added the conversion run and Wildcats held 32-0 halftime lead.

Adams would score again to start the Wildcat domination in the second half this time from 33 yards out.

Senior Corbin Brockie added Harlem's fifth conversion of the game to give Harlem a 40-0 lead heading into the final 12 minutes of action.

The Indians would score four fourth-quarter touchdowns to make this contest seem a little closer than it was.

Wildcat freshman Taggert Devaney scored the final points of the game for the Wildcats in the lopsided 46-30 homecoming win.

Harlem's offensive explosion was spearheaded by Adams. The senior carried the ball 12 times for a whopping 209 yards and four touchdowns.

Adams averaged nearly 18 yards a carry and also hauled in a 52 yard reception from Messerly.

Messerly was highly effective as well. The junior gained 140 yards on just nine carries for a 16 yard average while scoring one touchdown on the ground.

Devaney gained 66 yards on seven carries for the Wildcats as the team amassed 449 rushing yards in the contest on 40 attempts.

Adams was a beast on the defensive side of the ball as well.

Adams led the Wildcats with 13 total tackles including 10 solo tackles.
