"The Unseen" – Help us to remember

October 12, 2016

“Heavenly Father, help us remember that the jerk who cut us off in traffic last night is a single parent who worked nine hours that day and is rushing home to cook dinner, help with homework, do the laundry and spend a few precious moments with their children. Help us to remember the disinterested young person who can’t make change correctly is a worried 19-year-old college student, balancing their apprehension over final exams with the fear of not getting their student loans for next semester. Help us remember that the old couple walking annoyingly slow through the store aisles blocking our shopping progress are savoring this moment, knowing that, based on the biopsy report she got last week, this will be the last year they go shopping together.”

Sometimes we get caught up in our lives without thinking about the people facing everyday struggles alone where as you may not be. Sometimes we need to think about those little things we may not always think about just because we are so busy. Slow down and open your eyes to the world around. Try to see the things that you don’t normally see. Always remember there are others out there with struggles, bigger or smaller than yours they are struggles and deserve to be respected just as yours do.
