Sugarbeeters earn Class C All-State Honorable Mention Volleyball recognition

November 30, 2016

The Chinook Sugarbeeter volleyball team picked up a couple more post season awards as senior Kelsey Mathon and junior Sierra Swank received Honorable Mention All-State recognition.

Mathon and Swank were part of a team that turned in a very successful season this past fall. Chinook captured it’s fourth straight District 6C-East Conference and District championships and earned a third place finish at the Northern C.

Mathon has been a vital part of the Sugarbeeter success having played at the Class C state tournament her freshman and junior seasons while also being a part of all four championship teams.

Mathon earned District 6C-East All-Conference honors the past three seasons and this years All-state selection is her second.

Swank has also been instrumental the past two seasons as well. Her ability to make good decisions as a setter while also being able to attack the defense as a hitter made her a valuable asset to her team.

Swank also competed at the state tournament her sophomore season and was recently named to the District 6C-East All-Conference team for the second time. This is her first All-State selection.

Swank will return next fall to help lead the Sugarbeeters once again.
