Chinook Area Chamber meets, discusses fund raising efforts

On January 11th, 2017 at 6:34 P.M. the Chinook Area Chamber of Commerce had their regular monthly meeting at the Chamber office on Main Street. In attendance were: Heather DePriest, Frank Pehrson, Jayne Morrow, Bonnie Weber, Robert Kelley, Hayley Yost, Sarah Pratt and Jennifer Hellman.

We have been discussing on doing fundraising for the Chamber. License plates have been one of the ideas we have been talking about. We have a final committee meeting that will take place in the next few weeks to finalize this.

There is one new business to welcome at this time and we will be waiting till their After Hours event to do this. Steve Zellmer with Treasure State Title Company has moved his business to Chinook.

Banners for the highway and Main Street are ordered and will be getting put up in early Spring (weather permitted). It was also discussed at the meeting of doing sponsorships or in memory of at the bottom of the banners to help with the cost of the banners. Please contact any of the board members if you have any questions or would like to sponsor. You can email us at info@chinookmontana.com.

It was discussed that the CHS All Class Reunion is on the books for July of 2018. Planning for this will start this coming summer. Anyone with questions on this may contact their committee at info@chsallclassreunion.com

Heather brought to the Chambers attention that the State of MT is planning on building a round a bout just North of Grass Range at the intersections of 200, 87, and 19 North. There was a meeting last week on the plans for this project. We will keep the public updated as news comes available.

Our regular meeting times have also been an issue, in lieu of trying to resolve this and get more people to come to the meetings we are changing things up a bit. On February 8th, we will be hosting the first Dinner Meeting. This will be hosted by the Chamber of Commerce, at 6:00 p.m. at the Chamber office (South of the Eagles Club). We welcome everyone to attend our meetings as we value your opinions on our beautiful town.

Again we would like to Welcome you to any of our Regular Chamber meetings. Your memberships are very important as well. Please take the time and check out our website for more information on becoming a member of your local Chamber of Commerce. All of the funds from our valued members go right back into the community.
