The Week of wrestling exploded in Blaine County by bringing over one hundred wrestlers to the mats here in the county.

On Thursday Hays Lodge Pole opened the week with a long overdue mixer on their home turf. This was the first time in over thirty years that Hays/Lodgepole has been able to host a wrestling mixer.

Malta, Chinook, and Harlem all converged for the historic event in the Thunder Dome at Hays Lodge Pole to celebrate bringing wrestling back to the southern end of the county. Hays Lodge Pole is looking forward to many more years of hosting a mixer.

Friday, thirteen teams came together bringing just over one hundred wrestlers to Chinook. They wrestled two rounds for a night exceeding one hundred matches.

Friday saw the last home match for the season, bringing with it Senior night. Chinook celebrated their one senior, Tate Niederegger, a one-time state runner up and a two-time state champion that is looking to add a third state title to his name this year in Billings.

Saturday saw the wrestlers converging on Harlem at their annual invitational. Thirteen teams also participated in Harlem with ninety-six wrestlers competing. Each of the Blaine county schools saw success on the stand as Harlem placed five in the top four, Chinook placed three, and Hays placed one.

Seniors, Reece Hutton and Tate Niederegger both found their way to the top of the podium at the end of the day. Tate snatched the quick pin award, wrestling for a total of two minutes and twenty seconds against three opponents.
