Chinook Alum, Northern Wrestler Ben Stroh headed to NAIA National Tournament

In his final drive for a top finish Ben Stroh looks to extend his fantastic wrestling career. Last Saturday Ben and his teammates from MSU Northern traveled to Redding CA to compete in the NAIA West Regional Qualifier. The top three placers automatically advance to the NAIA finals that take place on March third and fourth. Northern had three first place finishes and one third place finish that will give them four wrestlers that will automatically advance to the big show in Topeka Kansas.

Ben continued to dominate this weekend just like he has for the rest of his wrestling career. In his first two matches he won by tech falls, where he out scores his opponent by more than 15 and the match is stopped. In his finals match he won by fall at 2:36. Ben was ranked #2 in the nation prior to this weekend in the NAIA poll. With his outstanding finish at the regional qualifier he should move up to #1 in wrestler at the 184-weight class. As Charles Sharon from Kentucky who was ranked #1 took second in the East Regional Qualifier.

Look for Ben to finish off his collegiate career just like he did this past weekend and as has done so many times in the past by placing himself on top of the podium
