Wednesday, March 22nd, the Chinook FFA Members departed for the 2017 Montana State FFA Convention in Great Falls, Montana. Upon arriving, they went and toured the Montana Air National Guard Base, seeing very interesting things such as the C-130, the armory, and spoke with RED HORSE members.

Thursday, the state events started for our chapter. Cristen Friede, Kendra McMaster, Hailey McMaster, and Garrett Lowham participated in Farm Business Management.

Rebecca Stroh and Jase Pursley participated in the Junior Speaking contest with a prepared speech. Colton Liddle, Tye Mitchell, Larissa Getten, and Jade Cecrle participated in Livestock Evaluation.

Then, for Day of Service, all of our members signed up, and went to help clean up the animal shelter and build sun shades for the animals.

To finish off the day, Michael Warburton, Kurtis Hamilton, Cristen Friede, and Jackson Schmele participated in Agriculture Sales.

Michael, being the top placer in the group, placing in the top 20 out of 152 competitors.

On the last day of the State Convention, Wade Schneider, Cord Schneider, Brad Pelesky, and Michael Warburton competed in Ag Mechanics.

Wade also participated in Agronomy, as well as Larissa Getten, Anna Getten, and Garrett Lowham.

Rachel Gunderson, Paxtin McCann, and Ethan Liddle represented the Chinook FFA as delegates, discussing and voting on important topics for the state FFA. Cristen Friede, Rachel Gunderson, and Sierra Swank entered their treasures, secretary, and scrapbooks respectively to be viewed by members.

Patrick McMaster and Wade Schneider developed a Hall of Chapters display for all members to see our program. The Chinook FFA was awarded a superior ranking for their National Chapter Application.

To cap off the convention all the members went to the dance, where they jittered like there was no tomorrow.

Overall, it was a blast of a weekend, and always is at the Montana State FFA Convention.
