'Beeters, Wildcats in Shelby to begin Golf Season

Chinook senior Kade Friede and junior Carrie Hofer each qualified for the Class C State Golf Tournament this past weekend in Shelby. Hofer recorded a 110 in her first round of the season while Friede shot a 98 his first time out. The Class C State Tournament will be held in Seeley, May 15-17.

The Class C and Class B high school golf season got underway for the Chinook Sugarbeeters and Harlem Wildcats this past weekends as they competed for the first time this season in Shelby.

Chinook senior Kade Friede and junior Carrie Hofer each posted solid numbers their first time on the links this season.

Hofer qualified for the Class C State Tournament with a round of 110, Friede fired off a round of 98 to qualify him for the state C as well.

The State C will be held in Seeley May 15-17. A qualifying score for the girls tournament is 120 while the boys mark is set at 100.

The Wildcats were led by the efforts of senior Khey'Shawn Skidmore and freshman Brad Cichosz.

Skidmore posted a score of 98 in his first action of the season. Cichosz, playing in his first high school tournament shot a 105. The Class B State Tournament will be in Shelby.

The 'Beeters will be in Chouteau this Friday and the Wildcats will head to Glasgow. Saturday both schools will be in Malta.
