August 2, 2017

Children are reminded to return their summer reading logs to the library by August 4. Grand prize winners will be announced next week. Lego Club will continue to meet in August on Thursdays from 6:00-7:00 P.M. Adults who are participating in the Letter by Letter Game have until the end of August when the drawing for the $50 gift card will be held. Books and Babies and Story Hour will resume following Labor Day.

During the heat of summer curl up with a good book to read and relax! New titles to choose from include these two great summer reads: “Beach House for Rent” by Mary Alice Monroe and “The Light in Summer” by Mary McNear.

Jill Santopolo has written the novel “The Light We Lost.” Lucy and Gabe met the first time as seniors at Columbia University. A year late they meet again and this time they feel they may find life’s meaning in each other. But Gabe leaves for the Middle East as a photojournalist and Lucy’s career takes her to New York City.

This is the story of their thirteen-year journey in and out of each other’s lives. Lucy must answer the questions: Was it fate that brought them together? Is it choice that keeps them apart?

Three new suspense thrillers include “Knife Creek” by Paul Doiron, “You’ll Never Know, Dear” by Hallie Ephron, and “You Will Pay” by Lisa Jackson.

The latest nonfiction historical work by David Fisher is “Bill O’Reilly’s Legends and Lies: The Civil War.” With “archival images, eyewitness accounts, and beautiful artwork” this book covers America’s bloodiest war.

This week I am highlighting the library’s Montana section. This includes fiction written by Montana authors and stories set in Montana. The Montana nonfiction collection includes a large number of books about a number of topics including Montana history, cookbooks, geography, plants and animals and more! Montana biographies feature people who have made their mark on the state. Check out the Montana section the next time you stop at the library.

Remember you can download audio books and e-books on your device using your library card number on MontanaLibrary2Go. Call the library for more information.
