The Summer Reading programs are finished this year. Prizes were drawn for, hours were counted and we have winners! Our top reader this year was Gracie Skoyen with 38 hours turned in. Gracie won the after-hours pizza party. Coming in a close second was Hadley Gustitis with 36 hours and Hadley won a book. Winners of the drawings were Aubri Christensen-Marble Run, Ayden Alisch- Microscope, Kamry Gustitis-Terrarium, and Britton Elliot-Tasty Science Kit. We had a total of 49 kids turn in hours for reading and a total of 488 hours reported. We thank all the parents and care givers who encouraged kids to read and participate in the Summer Reading Program. We would also like to send a big thank you to everyone who volunteered during our weekly programs. We couldn't have done it without your help!

All the books ready to go this week are by authors new to our library. "Here and Gone" by Haylen Beck is a gripping, wonderfully tense suspense thriller about a mother's desperate fight to recover her stolen children from corrupt authorities. "Girl in Snow" by Danya Kukafka is a debut novel. When a beloved high schooler named Lucinda Hayes is found murdered, no one in her sleepy Colorado suburb is untouched-not the boy who loved her too much; not the girl who wanted her perfect life; not the officer assigned to investigate her murder. "The Secret Diary of Hendrik Groen, 83 ¼ Years Old" by Hendrik Groen is a funny, tender-hearted tale about friendship, love, and an old man who is young at heart. The disappearance of a beautiful, charismatic mother leaves her family to piece together her secrets in this propulsive novel titled "Watch Me Disappear" by Janelle Brown. "The Goddesses" by Swan Huntley is a haunting story of betrayal and forgiveness about a woman who moves her family to Hawaii, only to find herself wrapped up in a dangerous friendship.

There is always something going on at the library. Check us out on Facebook or look us up on our website at http:www.blainecountylibrary.org for up to date information about what's going on!
