2017 holiday shopping kicked off last weekend

A break in the cold weather brought out shoppers to kick off the 2017 holiday season. Even before the famous 'Black Friday' local artisans and merchants offered numbers of unique gifts for the upcoming season. Left: The banquet room of the Chinook Eagles Club was jam packed with crafters and shoppers during the annual Pre-Holiday Craft Show held last Saturday. Several choices of hot soup, served in a bread bowl if desired, helped the shoppers keep up their strength while browsing for gifts to purchase.

On Sunday Shores Floral hosted their annual open house with plenty of finger foods and gift ideas displayed throughout the store. Shoppers are shown here making a stop at the food tables before moving on to the shopping opportunities. Owner Bonnie Weber described the sizable turnout as "about normal." A sunny day helped draw shoppers after church.
