Blaine County Library

November 22, 2017

The Library will be closed Thursday November 23rd for the Thanksgiving Holiday. We will be open from 12:00 to 3:00 on Friday.

Plan to attend the 26th annual Hassle Free Christmas Program, November 28th at 7:00 p.m. in the library meeting room. As always, we will have presentations, the Bell Choir will perform, we will have door prizes and we will have plenty of delicious food to eat!

The Monuments Men will be the movie today at 1:00 p.m. in the library meeting room. It is rated PG-13 and running time is 118 minutes. Everyone is welcome to attend and refreshments will be served. National Velvet will be November 29th. We are showing the movies with closed captioning whenever possible. Hopefully this will encourage those who may have difficulties hearing the movies to attend.

The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature is the only new movie available for checkout this week. We have several new fiction books and a couple of non-fiction ones ready to go. "In this Moment" by Karen Kingsbury is a Baxter Family novel about a beloved high school principal who starts a Bible Study to improve the lives of his struggling students, only to become the national focus of a controversial lawsuit. Will Robie and Jessica Reel are two of the most lethal people alive. They're the ones the government calls in when the utmost secrecy is required to take out those who plot violence and mass destruction against the United States. And through every mission, one man has always had their backs: their handler: code-named Blue Man. But now, Blue Man is missing. Sent to investigate, Robie and Reel arrive in the small town of Grand to discover that it has its own share of problems. A stagnant local economy and a woefully understaffed police force have made this small community a magnet for crime, drugs, and a growing number of militant fringe groups. But lying in wait in Grand is an even more insidious and sweeping threat, one that may shake the very foundations of America. And when Robie and Reel find themselves up against an adversary with superior firepower and a home-court advantage, they'll be lucky if they make it out alive, with or without Blue Man in "End Game" by David Baldacci. "Even if it Kills Her" by Kate White is a Bailey Weggins Mystery.

"The Pioneer Woman Cooks Come and Get It!" by Ree Drummond is full of simple, scrumptious recipes for crazy busy lives. A dangerous, homeless, drifter who grew up picking cotton in virtual slavery, an upscale art dealer accustomed to the world of Armani and Chanel, and a gutsy woman with a stubborn dream are all part of a story so incredible no novelist would dare dream it. It begins outside a burning plantation hut in Louisiana . . . and an East Texas honky-tonk . . . and, without a doubt, in the heart of God. It unfolds in a Hollywood hacienda . . . an upscale New York gallery . . . a downtown dumpster . . . a Texas ranch. Gritty with pain and betrayal and brutality, "Same Kind of Different as Me" by Ron Hall & Denver Moore is a true story also shines with an unexpected, life-changing love.

This week's line from "Life's Little Instruction Book" #347: Never waste an opportunity to tell someone you love them.

There is always something going on at the library. Check us out on Facebook or look us up on our website at http:www.blainecountylibrary.org for up to date information about what's going on!
