Blaine County Library

February 28, 2018

The Blaine County Library Board of Trustees will hold their regular meeting today at 11:00 a.m. in the library meeting room.

Quigley Down Under will be the movie today at 1:00 p.m. in the library meeting room. It is rated PG-13 and running time is 2 hours. Everyone is welcome to attend and refreshments will be served. The Monuments Men will be showing March 7th. We are showing the movies with closed captioning whenever possible. Hopefully this will encourage those who may have difficulties hearing the movies to attend.

We are currently planning our Summer Reading Program and we are looking for some items for crafts. We are in need of empty paper towel rolls and cereal boxes. If you can donate any to the cause we would be grateful!

We have 6 new movies ready to go this week. Daddy’s Home 2 is the follow-up to the 2015 blockbuster Daddy’s Home. Based on the beloved best-selling novel, Wonder follows the inspiring story of the Pullman family, whose youngest child, Auggie, is a boy born with facial differences. Same Kind of Different as Me, The Stray and Only the Brave are movies based on true stories.

We have a variety of new fiction this week. “Surprise Me” by Sophie Kinsella is a witty and emotionally charged novel that delves into the heart of a marriage- and how those we love and know the best can sometimes surprise us the most. “Into the Black Nowhere” by Meg Gardiner is a thriller in which FBI profiler Catlin Hendrix faces off against a charming, merciless serial killer. “Fall from Grace” by Danielle Steel is a gripping story of a woman who loses everything- her husband, her home, her sense of self and safety, and her freedom. “Poison” is John Lescroart’s latest thriller. “The Gate Keeper” by Charles Todd is an Inspector Ian Rutledge mystery. “House Witness” by Mike Lawson is a Joe DeMarco thriller.

Be sure to check out the on-going book sale in the entryway while you are here. You may find something you just can’t do without! All proceeds from our book sales go into our memorial fund and are used for special programming and items to enhance the library. We also have a cart of discarded magazines free for the taking!

There is always something going on at the library. Check us out on Facebook or look us up on our website at http:www.blainecountylibrary.org for up to date information about what’s going on!
