Hogeland happenings

February 28, 2018

We’ve had a week of cold, below Zero temps with wind to blow the snow around and into drifts making roads impassable. Monday being a holiday, and then a couple of days with no mail. It made for a long week. Busses didn’t run a few of those days and if you wanted to get your kids to school, you broke trail and got them there. It’s tough for the snow plows to work when the snow blows the roads shut right behind them. We really appreciate our snow plow drivers and we thank them for all they do.

Loretta and Wally Beck took Jamie and Crystal Zellmer as their guests, to the Valentine dinner last week.

Susan Billmayer made it to Harlem for groceries on Thursday.

Wendy, Conner and Aaron VanValkenburg snowmobiled over to see Sandy Beck on Sunday. She was really glad to see them. Company is always welcome but on days when you’re house bound its wonderful.

Dusty and Misty Mohar had their sons, Colter and Corbin, baptised at the Big Flat Catholic Church on Sunday, Holly and Landon Modic rode over to church with Brenda and Terry Mohar for the occasion.

Merrilyn Billmayer spent most of the week in Great Falls attending the Divisional Tournament. She said the girls did a wonderful job and they are to be congratulated for the playing and winning they did.

On the 18th, Loretta and Wally Beck helped Harley Jo celebrate her birthday at Bobbi and Shawn Becks.

Anita Reed was out Saturday and helped Mom and Dad catch up on some of their chores that needed to be done. Diana Maloney forged a trail on Sunday and did some more things for them before the road blew back in. The wind really whooped it up on Sunday.

Mike and Crystal Grabofsky, Cooper and Lucy, and Shawn Beck had lunch Tuesday at Wally and Loretta Becks. Grandpa Wally and Lucy went after Cooper from preschool while the rest of the family cut meat.

Elissa and Jordan Zellmer and family were at the Cheer the Girls Get together at the 241 Bar on Saturday on the Big TV there. Quite a group gathered to cheer them on.

On Friday, Levi and Glen Hawley watched the Turner game at Wally and Loreta Becks on the Sports Network.

Quite a few in the area watched the Turner games on the Network TV as they broadcasted the games. The rest of the country was at the game in Great Falls braving the roads to get there.

Terry and Brenda Mohar attended the Divisional Tournament games in Great Falls this past week.

Congratulations to the Turner girls. It is quite an honor to get to divisional and to win several times is extra good. Think next year!!

Looks like March 3 there will be a Jamboree with the Elementary kids playing out in Turner. Watch for times when Turner will play.
