Blaine County Library

March 21, 2018

Millions will be the movie today at 1:00 p.m. in the library meeting room. It is rated PG and running time is 98 minutes. Everyone is welcome to attend and refreshments will be served. Max will be showing March 28th. We are showing the movies with closed captioning whenever possible. Hopefully this will encourage those who may have difficulties hearing the movies to attend.

Jumanji, Welcome to the Jungle and Pitch Perfect 3 are two movies ready for checkout this week.

“The Liar’s Girl” by Catherine Ryan Howard is a haunting thriller about one woman’s attempt to escape a horrific past...and her inability to fully do so. “The Innocent Wife” by Amy Lloyd is a debut thriller. Twenty years ago, Dennis Danson was arrested and imprisoned for the brutal murder of a young girl. Now he’s the subject of a true-crime documentary that’s whipping up a frenzy online to uncover the truth and free a man who has been wrongly convicted. A thousand miles away in England, Samantha is obsessed with Dennis’s case. She exchanges letters with him, and is quickly won over by his apparent charm and kindness to her. Soon she has left her old life behind to marry him and campaign for his release. When the campaign is successful and Dennis is freed, however, Sam begins to discover new details that suggest he may not be quite so innocent after all. But how do you confront your husband when you don’t want to know the truth? “Every Note Played” by Lisa Genova is a powerful exploration of regret, forgiveness, freedom, and what it means to be alive.

Middle School Hangout is scheduled for Monday March 26th from 3:30 to 5:00 and LEGO Club will be March 29th from 3:30 to 4:30.

We are currently planning our Summer Reading Program and we are looking for some items for crafts. We are in need of empty paper towel rolls and cereal boxes. If you can donate any to the cause we would be grateful!

The Blaine County Library is pleased to be hosting the next class in the family education series being presented by the Blaine County Health Department. Join us on April 12th at 6:00 p.m. in the library meeting room. Tough Topics: Talking with your teen will be the focus that evening. Topics covered will be reproductive health, vaping and tobacco use, evolution of drugs and alcohol use.

March is Women’s History Month. Kelsey has put together a book display full of women’s history to celebrate.

Be sure to check out the on-going book sale in the entryway while you are here. You may find something you just can’t do without! All proceeds from our book sales go into our memorial fund and are used for special programming and items to enhance the library. We also have a cart of discarded magazines free for the taking!

There is always something going on at the library. Check us out on Facebook or look us up on our website at http:www.blainecountylibrary.org for up to date information about what’s going on!
