Melanie Qualls and Lori Findorff look through one of the scrapbooks put together by members of the Chinook Alliance Church. Pastor Dennis and his wife, Lori, have taken a new call to Fortine where Dennis will be pastor of the Fortine Community Church.

Congregants of the Alliance Church hosted a reception in honor of Pastor Dennis, Lori and Pat Findorff who are leaving Chinook. Pastor Dennis and Lori have taken a new call to Fortine, near Whitefish in western Montana. Pat Findorff, Dennis' mother, also lived several years in Chinook and will be moving to live near a daughter and family in Cove, Oregon. The event was an informal "drop-in" with an opportunity to greet and share goodbyes with the Pastor and his family.

Congregants of the Chinook Alliance Church and members of the community gathered last week to honor the Findorff family. Pastor Dennis and Lori are moving to Fortine where he will pastor the local church and Pat Findorff, Dennis' mother, is moving to Cove, Oregon to be near a married daughter and her family.

The Findorffs had made many connections in the community and locals as well as Alliance congregants took the opportunity to visit with and wish the three success and happiness in their new locations. Some people in the Alliance church created a couple of very nice scrapbooks of the Findorff family's time in Chinook. A third career pastor, Dennis and Lori lived in Klamath Falls, Oregon before coming to Chinook. In Klamath Falls he was the assistant pastor while he finished his seminary training. Dennis was trained as a civil engineer, spent many years as a land surveyor and taught engineering at the college level for a time. He was pastor of the local Alliance church for nearly ten years.

Most recently Pastor Dennis led the Chinook Ministerial Association before accepting the new call. He was also active in the operation of Loaves and Fishes, the summer feeding program coordinated by the Ministerial Association. Several fellow pastors from the Association were on hand for the reception.
