Turner holds Class of 2018 Graduation

Superintendent of Turner School is Mr. Russ McKenna, School Counselor, Ms. Darlene Azure, Guest Speaker and pianist, Mrs. Heather Jorgenson, Board of Trustee Chairman, Mrs. Shannon Van Voast.

The Turner School held its Commencement exercises this past Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the Turner School gymnasium.

The processional was played by Mrs. Heather Jorgenson. Senior, Eddie Harmon, gave the welcome, followed by a the introduction of the guest speaker by Stacie Cornell.

The Commencement address was given by Mrs. Heather Jorgenson. A Parent presentation was given by the Seniors. Long stem roses were given out to the parents and special guests, and family.

A speech was given by Senior, Stacie Cornell and then the three Seniors showed a slide presentation of their years at Turner School.

Mrs. Aimee Timmons, officer of the Big Flat Grain Bin Association, gave two $1,000.00 scholarships to Eddie Harmon and Stacie Cornell. Ms. Darlene Azure, School Counselor, presented a few scholarships to the seniors.

Big Flat Electric gave two Scholarships this year. The two recipients were Stacie Cornell and Eddie Harmon and each one received $250.00. Eddie Harmon also received a $500.00 Scholarship from A & M Aviation, and $1000.00 Scholarship from Triangle Communications. Eddie has also had some interests from Rocky Mountain College, MSU-N, and Dickinson State.

Mr. Russ McKenna, Superintendent of Turner Schools, introduced the eighth grade graduates. They were Ryanne Alexis Briere, Lacey Autumn Hickel, Shay Steven Humphreys, Trever Lawrence Kimmel, and Laci Lee Maloney. Their class colors were Navy Blue and Silver, Class Flower was a White Rose and their Class Motto was "The best preparation for tomorrow, is doing your best today" by H. Jackson Brown Jr. The eighth graders were presented their diplomas by Mrs. Shannon Van Voast, Board of Trustees Chairman.

The Senior Class was then presented by Superintendent, Mr. Russ McKenna. They were Stacie Dawn Cornell, Eddie Nash Harmon, and Benjamin Lee Hunter. Their class colors were Purple and White. Their Class flowers were Purple Roses and White Carnations. Their Motto was "Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm" by Winston Churchill. Mrs. Shannon Van Voast, Chairman of the Board of Trustees presented the diplomas. Benjamin Hunter gave the farewell address. The Classes of 2018 and 2022 was to a variety of favorite tunes. The afternoon was completed by a variety of parties to celebrate. Congratulations to all the graduates!!
