Blaine County Library

May 30, 2018

The Blaine County Library Board of Trustees will hold their regular monthly meeting today at 11:00 a.m. in the library meeting room.

The Blaine County Library is proud to host the next program in the health literacy series from the Blaine County Health Department. The Blaine County Health Department will hold a Mental Health Fair from 3-5 p.m. today. The movie “Resilience” will be shown from 5:00-6:30 p.m. with dinner to follow. There will be kid’s activities, local resources, provider and agency information, programming and curriculum options and the recognition of local mental health heroes. Attendance to the Health Fair gets you a ticket to the movie and dinner!

Your children are invited to join the Blaine County Library’s Summer Reading Program and attend the fun programs and events we are planning for children of all ages. Children who join the summer reading program keep their minds active and enter school in the fall ready to learn and ready to succeed. Kids can sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge any time after school on Friday, May 25th. For every two hours read, kids will be able to enter their name into our Summer Reading prize drawings. There will also be small prizes awarded for every two-hour entry. Pre-readers are encouraged to participate by having someone read to them. We will have computers available for taking Accelerated Reader tests, so kids will be able to get a head start on AR points for the fall.

We will show a family friendly movie every Monday at 1:30 p.m. The first movie will be June 4th and we will be showing the movie “Leap!” which is rated PG and running time is 89 minutes. We’re excited to continue our Summer Storytime this summer for kids ages 5 and under. This program will take place every Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. and will last approximately 30 minutes. The Summer Storytime program is tailored to the needs and interests of a younger age group and is a great opportunity for your younger children to get involved with our Summer Library activities. Each week we’ll read stories, sing songs, and make crafts. There will be a Summer Library Program every Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. beginning June 5th and ending July 31st. Each program will last around 45 to 60 minutes. There will be stories, games, crafts, and treats each week. Wednesdays will be LEGO Club from 1:30-2:30 p.m. for kids K through 6. Younger kids are welcome to attend with adult supervision. Thursdays will be Middle School Hangout from 1:30-2:30 p.m. This program is for kids going into grades 6 through 8.

We look forward to spending time with you and your children this summer. Please contact us with any questions at (406) 357-2932 or email us at blcolib@itstriangle.com.
