Turner Volunteer Fire Department hosts annual "Fill the Boot" picnic at Turner Park

he highlight for many at the Firemen's Picnic is a chance to ride on the big fire truck. Here a group of youngsters sit a top the truck and traveled throughout the town with a few firemen chaperoning. They love listening to the siren and greeting their parents and friends from the truck. It's a dream come true to many of these kiddos. Thanks, firemen, for taking the time to have some fun with the kids!

The Turner Volunteer Fire Department hosted their annual "Fill the Boot" picnic in the Turner Park on July 14th. The Firemen barbecued burgers and had corn on the cob. They asked attendees to bring the side dishes of desserts and salads. It's always a fun afternoon with much visiting and games of sorts. The children were looking forward to the water slide coming, but due to wind and cooler temps the order was canceled. But, even though it was cooler at lunch time, the temp went up a bit towards the later part of the afternoon and the water games continued as always. The children enjoyed their...
