Chinook Lions finish second in Lewistown, host Eastern Divisional this weekend

The Chinook Lions and Harlem swim teams took a full compliment of swimmers to Lewistown this past weekend and swam very well.
The Chinook Lions finished second overall in the team points race as well as second in the relay race. The Lions had two High Point winners, Rachel Stephens in the eight and under Bantam girls and Daniel Tilleman in the 9-10 Midget boys. Harlem's Andrew Rasmussen remained perfect on the season winning the 13-14 Intermediate boys High Point.
Stephens has had a spectacular season thus far. In Lewistown she won the 25 Meter Freestyle with a time of :19.12, the 50 Meter Freestyle in :42.21 and the 25 Meter Backstroke in :26.83.
Tilleman has had plenty of success in the pool as well and in the final meet before the Eastern Divisional he won all three of his individual events.
Tilleman won the 50 Meter Freestyle with a time of :34.48. He later added a win in the 50 Meter Breaststroke touching the wall in :48.33. Tilleman also won the 100 Meter Freestyle with a time of 1:18.62. Tilleman's effort in the Breaststroke was also a new pool record.
Tilleman along with Kohen Sullivan, Jacob Metcalf and Kolton DePriest also established a new pool mark in the 100 Meter Free Relay finishing with a time of 1:05.88. The quartet also won the 100 Meter Medley Relay in 1:23.58.
Rasmussen continued his streak of first place finishes and pool records over the weekend as well. Rasmussen won the 200 Meter Individual Medley in 2:42.39 while also winning the 100 Meter Freestyle in 1:00.49.
Rasmussen also claimed victory in the 200 Meter Freestyle completing the eight links of the pool in 2:21.24 which was also a new pool record.
The Lions also received first place efforts from Kohen Sullivan in the 9-10 Midget boys 50 Meter Backstroke as he won the event with a time of :46.00.
Hallie Neibauer finished first in the 11-12 Junior girls 50 Meter Freestyle touching the pad in :33.48. Belle Elliot won the 11-2 Junior girls 50 Meter Backstroke with a time of :41.78.
Lane Hasler also got into the win column taking the top spot in the 11-12 Junior boys50 Meter Freestyle (:30.30) and the 100 Meter Freestyle (1:10.76).
Hasler was joined by teammates Oskar Pula, Erik Pula and Reese Elliot on the 13-14 Intermediate Boys winning Freestyle Relay (2:02.75) and winning Medley Relay (2:26.78) teams.
Harlem's Lillian Cochran won the eight and under Bantam girls 25 Meter Butterfly in :24.16 and Alaura Hawley was victorious in the 11-12 Junior girls 50 Meter Butterfly with a time of :39.24.
The Eastern Divisional swim meet will be held in Chinook this weekend with the top 12 finishers in each event advancing to the state swim meet in Conrad August 4-5. Good luck to all of our swimmers.
