Havre Elks Lodge #1201 and the local VFW POST are hosting the “Hi-Line Veterans/First Responders Family BBQ”

Veterans, First Responders and their families are invited to the First Annual BBQ in their honor, Saturday, August 11th from 12pm – 3pm, at the 2nd Lake Pavilion out in the Bear Paw Mountains. This inaugural picnic is to honor Veterans and First Responders, with a family picnic featuring games, fishing and fun.

Havre Elks Lodge #1201 secretary and event co-chairwoman Brandy Kurtz stated. “The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks has been supporting veterans since the order started, 150 years ago in 1868.” Havre Lodge #1201 is continuing our support of veterans and first responders through this picnic as it’s a way to give back to those who serve and have served our community and country every day.” Kurtz stated.

VFW Post 497 ensures that veterans are respected for their service, always receive their earned entitlements, and are recognized for the sacrifices they and their loved ones have made on behalf of this great country. VFW post 497 is extremely honored to partner with the Elks on this inaugural event.

Havre Elks Lodge #1201 has applied for a Freedom Grant through the Elks National Foundation to assist in covering the cost of the event. Kurtz stated “Pepsi has been a fantastic corporate partner for this event by donating banners, posters, and all the drinks.” Kurtz goes one to say: “We look forward to all Veteran’s, First Responders, and their families joining us for a wonderful day on Saturday August 11th from noon until 3pm at the 2nd Lake Pavilion in Beaver Creek Park.
