Turner fairs well in the American Legion Poppy Poster And Americanism Essay contest

This past week was one that was an exciting one for member of the Turner American Legion Auxiliary. They had member, Brenda Mohar, come to the Turner School to present awards from the American Legion Auxiliary Poppy Poster Contest and the Americanism Essay Contest. She was very happy to present awards from various grade levels. Class I winner of BOTH the Americanism essay and the poppy poster contest was awarded to Abigail Grabofsky. Abby is the daughter of Sadie and Matt Grabofsky of Turner. She is shown here holding her awards while Mrs. Mohar holds her winning poppy poster. Congratulations!! Above right: Brenda Mohar, American Legion Auxiliary member, came to the Turner School to present all the class winners of the Poppy Poster Contest and Americanism Essay Contests. From grades 4-12, the top winners in the STATE were those shown here in this photo. The top poster winners were L-R: Brandy Calvert, daughter of Karensa and Brian Calvert, Jack Harmon, son of Shelly and Jon Harmon, and Wrien Wolery, daughter of Leesha and Chet Wolery. Americanism essay winners at the State level are Cassidy Grabofsky, daughter of Crystal and Mike Grabofsky, and back row, Laci Maloney, daughter of Brenda and Chris Maloney, and Clayton Krass, son of Jill and Lorin Krass, and Auxiliary member, Brenda Mohar. These students should be very proud of their accomplishments. They did an outstanding job of representing Turner School by State level! These students were presented their awards during lunch time where all the students could be involved in the presentation and hear more about the program for future participation.
