Blaine County Fair Foundation adds Harmon to the Board

December 5, 2018

Members of the Blaine County Fair Foundation Board were in Billings at the State Fair Convention in November. They are left to right: Dale Williams, Loren Skoyen, Honorary Board member Linda Ortner, Don Richman, Debbie Ramberg, Jon Harmon and John Skoyen.

The Blaine County Fair Foundation recently added Jon Harmon to their Board of Directors. The departure of Mike Copenhaver from the Board created need for a new Board member.

The Blaine County Fair Foundation is an entirely separate entity than the Blaine County Fairboard and can operate independently with out affecting anything in regards to the Fairboard operation or budget.

Dale Williams is the Foundation Chairman, John Skoyen is Vice Chairman, Loren Skoyen and Don Richman are Board Members.

Jon Harmon was asked to throw his hat in the discussion to fill the vacant seat, he did and then was selected to serve.

Harmon is ready to jump in and get his feet wet and help the Foundation move forward.

When asked what made him want to join the Foundation he said, "All boards need diversity. I, being from the Big Flat, feel I can offer some extra ideas from my area."

Now in a position to help the Foundation Harmon is all in when talking about meeting needs, "Efficient fund raising seems to be key. Our sponsors are great, and it's a nice way for them to be able to make a tax deductible contribution to the foundation without interfering with the county budget."

The fair is a big part of many memories for those of us that spent our childhoods growing up in North Central Montana, "Being part of the fair is great for teaching kids life lessons, from management to budgeting, and being rewarded for a positive end result for your hard work," concluded Harmon.
