Several Blaine County 4-H clubs were represented at the recent Blaine County 4-H Officer Training and Record Book workshop on December 9th at the Meadowlark School in Chinook. The Blaine County 4-H Teen Leaders organized and hosted the annual event this year. The Teen Leaders kicked off the workshop with several get-acquainted and ice breaker games. The group then split all of the participants up and they went to different workshops that were geared toward the office that they are holding in their 4-H club this year. The workshops included tips and duties of the Present, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Historian. Blaine County 4-H Agent, Juli Snedigar, was also on hand and taught a workshop on team building games for the younger members who might not hold an office just yet.

Teen Leader, Raynee Hassler teaches younger members how to take notes and prepare meeting minutes.

Following the Officer Training, the Teen Leaders taught a workshop on successfully completing the first section of the 4-H record Books. All 4-H members are required to complete record books every year. The Teen Leaders talked about setting goals, keeping track of all yearly activities, and gave helpful tips that they have used to complete their record books. The members were able to work on their record books during the workshop giving them a jump start on having a complete record book this year.

Blaine County 4-H Teen Leaders who participated in this event were: Kourtney Hanson, Raynee Hasler, Allyssa Schoen, Victoria Kirby, Alyssa Gruszie, Ross Reed and adult leader Shandel Fouts. They did a great job with these workshops and plan on hosting many more throughout this 4-H year.
