Tech Time is held every Wednesday from 1:00-2:00 P.M. Carly will answer your tech questions to the best of her knowledge. Call the library at 353-2712 or bring in the device you have a question about.
The Book Club members may still pick up a copy of the new book “The Great Alone” by Kristin Hannah this week. Discussions will be held Mondays at 4:00 P.M.
The library will be hosting an evening with local author Jack G. Young who has written “Down Range” and “The Wolf” February 19, 6:30 P.M. Please read the separate article for more information.
The first Learn at the Library program will take place January 22, 7 P.M. with guest speaker Melanie Sorensen, Licensed Addiction Counselor Candidate for the state of Montana, who will address the topic of gambling addiction.
“Family Trust” is a new novel by Kathy Wang. Stanley Huang has for years been living the American Dream, claiming that he is worth a small fortune. Newly diagnosed with pancreatic cancer the details of his estate will finally be revealed and his family is nervous.
Lou Berney is the author of “November Road.” Frank Guidry’s loyalty is tied to mob boss Carlos Marcello. But within hours of the assassination of JFK, people tied to Marcello are turning up dead. Guidry believes he’s next and hits the road to Las Vegas to see an old friend who hopefully can help him vanish. But on the way he comes across a woman on the side of the road with a broken-down car and two young daughters. Charlotte is also on the run and the two strangers soon share the open road in hopes of escaping the lives they left behind.
The novel “There There” is by Tommy Orange. It tells the story of twelve characters and their reasons for traveling to the Big Oakland Powwow. Orange takes readers into the world of urban Native Americans including their complex history, profound spirituality, and their struggles of addiction, abuse and suicide.
Barbara Kingsolver has written “Unsheltered.” This novel tells the story of two families who live in different time periods both struggling with survival. What do they have in common? The house at the corner of Sixth and Plum in Vineland, New Jersey.
