As the end of the school year nears, Harlem Elementary has become an extremely popular and busy site. One of the major activities this week included the traditional Wax Museum held by the 6th grade students. Since the 5th grade States Report presentation was held simultaneously with the Wax Museum, the coordinated planning made it very convenient for parents, family, and schoolmates to attend both events.

As the 6th graders can attest to, many hours of researching is involved with each student's topic. First, the students must choose a person which they find genuinely interesting, and which they would like to learn more about.

Griffen sits next to his exceptional Lego layout as he portrays Ole Kirk Christiansen, inventor of the ever-popular plastic blocks.

The presenters must then research and use the information to create reports and to illustrate their subject artistically. Finally, the students ready their display areas with hand-illustrated posters, accessories, and reports, not to mention themselves, dressed as their characters.

Many times, it is quite the challenge to find the appropriate clothes and props to fit into the correct era or occupation of their subjects, but the presenters somehow always manage to amaze the on-lookers with authentic-looking attire.

In order to complete their exhibits, the students must stand motionless during the presentation, which may be the most difficult part of the entire project. However, judging by the expressions of the on-lookers, the 6th graders, again, continued the tradition of leaving their audiences delighted and impressed. Thanks for sharing your talents with everyone, Harlem Elementary 6th graders!
