Don’t miss the great selection of used books on sale in the Reading Room. Hardbacks and DVDs are just a quarter and paperbacks are only one dime!

New titles arrive regularly at the library. This week you will want to check out these selections. “And Then You Were Gone” is by R.J. Jacobs. Emily Firestone’s life is finally coming together. She has her bipolar disorder under control, she has a great job, and her boyfriend Paolo adores her. When he suggests a weekend sailing trip, Emily agrees. But when she wakes up the morning after they set sail, the boat is still adrift….and Paolo is gone.

Alafair Burke is the author of “The Better Sister.” No two sister could be more different. Chloe was the one in charge who attended an Ivy League school and landed a prime job in New York City. Nicky was the opposite of her ambitious sister, moving from job to job and man to man. Until she married attorney Adam Macintosh and they had a baby boy. Fifteen years later, Chloe is married to Adam and he is murdered at their beach house. Now Chloe must call her sister, her teenage stepson, Ethan’s, biological mother, back into her life.

“The Pandora Room “ is by Christopher Golden. Archaeologist Sophie Durand discovers a subterranean city in Northern Iraq. The team uncovers a secret chamber that contains a warning from Alexander the Great. There history and mythology merge as one of Pandora’s jar is found. But the story variation says there were two jars. Is the one found the one that contained all the blessings of the gods or all the world’s curses?

Two new inspirational novels are “The Patient One” by Shelley Shepard Gray and “The Tinderbox” by Beverly Lewis. “Last Stage to Hell Junction” is a new western by Mickey Spillane and Max Allan Collins.

Other new titles include “The American Agent,” a Maisie Dobbs novel by Jacqueline Winspear, “Stone Bridges” by Carla Neggers, and “The Fifth Doctrine” by Karen Robards.

The Book Challenge for June is to read a book by a deceased author. We have a selection of titles on display for you to choose from.

The regular meeting of the library board will be Wednesday, June 26, 4 P.M. in the library meeting room.
