Zurich School All-Class Reunion Planning Committee: Back Row/Standing: Betty Billmayer, Shellie Pruttis, Sandy Miller, Deanna Gilmore, Luann Brabson, Rob Buhmann, Kelsey Buhmann Brown. Front Row/Seated: Stephanie (Billmayer) Silva holding Gaya and Vicki Snider.

A group of nine people met on July 29, resurrecting the name Zurich Association of Parents (ZAP) as their name for the committee that is planning a Zurich Elementary School all-class reunion. The reunion event has been set for June 12-13 in 2020.

"We're looking for pictures, names and addresses of former students, and volunteers to help with the organization and planning pieces of the reunion," Planning Committee member Sandy Miller said. "From what we gather, we are hoping to put together a slide show of pictures for entertainment."

Because the Reunion Committee is currently in the beginning stages of planning, they invite anyone interested in helping to organize the event, to volunteer in some capacity, or to otherwise get involved by attending their next meeting, which is scheduled for August 26 at 6:30 p.m. in the Annex of the Chinook Alliance Church. Located at the corner of Indiana and 2nd Street, the Annex occupies the old L & L Pizza building, which was remodeled for church offices and additional meeting rooms.

"Right now, we're using the Blaine County Journal News-Opinion, social media, and posters to get the word out. We will do a mailing once we get more information from people," Miller explained.

At their August meeting, the ZAP plans to set a registration fee that will pay not only for mailings and advertising but for the ingredients to make pies. The initial planning committee has already determined that there will be a pie social one day. They also hope to host two dinners, one on Friday and another on Saturday night. All reunion events will be held at either the Zurich Park or Zurich Elementary School.

Anyone seeking additional information or wishing to share ideas is asked to call Betty Billmayer at 357-4100.

"It should be a good time," Billmayer said, "so share your ideas."
