24th Annual Fireball Golf Tournament Saturday

August 14, 2019

The Chinook Golf Course will host its 24th Annual Fireball Golf Tournament this Saturday, and as has been the case the past several years a full field is expected.

The tournament has been played with as many as 22 teams in the past but the optimal number is 18-20 and that is what can be expected this weekend.

The tournament is the biggest of the year for the course and this Saturday players will have the opportunity to win some huge cash prizes or potentially even a trip to Hawaii.

Each team consists of four players and uses a scramble format.

Entry into the tournament includes individual and team mulligans, deuce pot and a steak dinner after the tournament.

Hole prizes will be available on all 18 holes for players to win as they progress through their round. All 80 players will certainly have an opportunity to win big.

A Hole-in-One this year will make any player jump for joy regardless of how the rest of their day has gone. The Chinook Pharmacy is sponsoring a trip to Hawaii for a Hole-in-One on one of the Par 3’s. EZ Mart/EZ Mark Casino in Harlem has sponsored a $5,000 payout for anyone who turns the trick on the other Par 3.

Prize money will be awarded for first place gross and first, second and third place net. Players on the winning teams will then have the opportunity to compete individually in a Three Putt Challenge for the chance to win $10,000.

The Three-Putt-Challenge is being sponsored by Bear Paw Credit Union and will require players to hole three putts in succession from varying lengths.

Shiloh Seymour will again be integral to the teams and their players having an enjoyable round. She will provide a quick lunch for players to grab a bite as they make the turn and then will be serving up New York Strip Steak following play.

Pre-registration is required with check-in beginning at 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning. A Calcutta will follow and teams will tee off at 10:00 a.m.

The course is in great shape, the greens are rolling smooth and fast and there are plenty of opportunities to hit that shot that keeps you coming back.

The Fireball has been the biggest tournament the Chinook Golf Course puts on for many years. To secure a spot in the tournament needs to be done in advance and while fun to play, it is very competitive.

The course hosts other tournaments a little more relaxed in nature such as the Three Club Challenge, the Maurice Harshman Memorial Tournament and earlier this year the All-Class Reunion Tournament.
