Harlem Library

The library is hosting guest speaker Bob Quinn Nov. 19 with a free supper at 6 P.M. with his presentation to follow at 7 P.M. Quinn in an organic farmer from Big Sandy who has written the book “Grain by Grain.” He is the founder of Kamut International and was the developer of Montana’s first wind farm. The Book Challenge for Nov. is to read a book set in Montana. You may want to read one of the ten nominees for The Great Montana Read sponsored by Montana PBS. Check out the display at the library. The library board meets today at 4:15 in the library meeting room. Don’t miss this year’s Creative Christmas Nov. 26, 7 P.M. with guest crafters Jennifer Strzelczyk and Dorothy Harris. The library will be closed Nov. 28, Thanksgiving Day but will be open Nov. 29. Mark your calendars for Dec. 4 when the Friends of the Library will hold the annual Wine & Cheese fundraiser.

Blaine County Library

Plan ahead! The 28th Annual Hassle Free Christmas Program will be Tuesday December 3rd at 7:00 p.m. Storytime is Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. After School Hangout is Tuesdays at 3:30 p.m. for students in 5th and 6th grade. LEGO/STEAM Club is Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. for students K-6. Younger children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.

Montana Veteran Affairs

Judy Loendorf and/or Steve Mulonet, Service Officers for the Montana Veterans Affairs will be visiting the Fort Belknap – IHS CHR Conference Room – 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 14th to meet with Veterans who are interested in applying for benefits. If you are interested in applying for benefits, please bring a copy of your discharge paperwork (DD214) with you.

American Lutheran Church

The American Lutheran Church of Chinook will be having their Annual Fall Dinner and Bazaar on Sunday, November 24, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. A Swedish Meatball dinner with pie will be served. $10 per person, preschoolers are free. Bazaar will include Lefse, cookies, baked goods and boxed occasion cards. Carry out orders available. For more information or carry out orders call 357-2373.

Cancer Group

The cancer group will meet on Tuesday November 19, at 11:15 A.M. at the Chinook Senior Citizens Center. Guest speaker will be Charlene Schmitz, Licensed Clinical Director of Social services, Northern Montana Hospital, Havre . She will present “An Update on Hospice Care”. Call for dinner reservations (357-2648) a day ahead. You are welcome to come and hear the program. For further information call 357-4129. Everyone is welcome.

Blaine County Airport Commission

The November meeting of the Blaine County Airport Commission Board is scheduled for Tuesday, November 19, 2019, 4:00 p.m. at the Edgar G. Obie Airport Administration Building in Chinook.

North Blaine County Co-op State Grazing District

North Blaine County Co-op State Grazing District will hold their annual meeting on Monday, November 18 at 1:00 pm at the Chinook Library Meeting Room. To place items on the agenda or for more information please call 406-945-0404.

Chinook Youth Bowling
