January 29, 2020

The library board of trustees meets today for their monthly meeting at 4:15 in the library meeting room.

This is the last week to participate in the library word cloud activity. Stop by the library and give us a word that describes our library. At the end of the month we will put all the words together to make a word cloud about our library.

If you have completed the January Book Challenge to read a book with an ugly cover contact the library so your name can be entered into the drawing to win a gift certificate from a local business. The Book Challenge for February is to read a book that reminds you of someone you love.

A Census 2020 representative will be at the library February 4 from noon to 4 P.M. taking applications for Census workers. The 2020 Census has a variety of positions requiring various levels of experience and training, offering temporary full time to flexible part time positions.

The library will be closed Friday, February 7 so the staff may attend state library training.

The library is hosting a five week series “Circle of Security” parenting classes beginning February 6, 6:00-7:30 P.M. These is no charge for the classes and child care will be provided. Jake Strissel from the Havre Bullhook Community Health Center will be the instructor. Topics covered include: Children’s Needs, Creating Relationships, Path to Security, Exploring Struggles, and Repairing Relationships. The classes meet the requirements for the CPS Parenting Plan. Call the library to register, or for more information.

Rowan Caine comes across an ad for an opportunity too good to miss – a live-in nanny post in a luxurious home in the Scottish Highlands for a seemingly picture-perfect family. But soon she realizes she has stepped into a nightmare that ends with a child dead and herself in prison awaiting trial for murder.

Erin Morgenstern is the author of “The Starless Sea.” Zachery Ezra Rawlings discovers a mysterious book in the stacks of his campus library. He is entranced by stories of lovelorn prisoners, lost cities and nameless acolytes. A turn of the page reveals a story from Zachary’s own childhood in a book that is older than his is.
