February is Library Lover’s Month. Stop in and let us know why you love your library. February is also the month for romance. The display table will be filled with romances to check out.

We have a variety of new books available this week. “Long Brite River” by Liz Moore is a page-turning thriller. In a Philadelphia neighborhood rocked by the opioid crisis, two once-inseparable sisters find themselves at odds. One, Kacey, lives on the streets in the vise of addiction. The other, Mickey, walks those same blocks on her police beat. They don’t speak anymore, but Mickey never stops worrying about her sibling. Then Kacey disappears, suddenly, at the same time that a mysterious string of murders begins in Mickey’s district, and Mickey becomes dangerously obsessed with finding the culprit--and her sister--before it’s too late. “The Prized Girl” is a devastating tale of psychological suspense by Amy Green. Jenny, a teen pageant queen is found murdered in a small New England town, and her sister’s search for answers unearths more than she bargained for in this heartbreaking story of missed connections, a complicated family, and a town’s disturbing secrets. “American Dirt” by Jeanine Cummings is the new pick for Oprah’s Book Club and tells the story of a mother and her 8 year old son who are forced to flee their country and become immigrants in the United States. “Big Lies in a Small Town” is a new novel by Diane Chamberlain. North Carolina, 2018: Morgan Christopher’s life has been derailed. Taking the fall for a crime she did not commit, she finds herself serving a three-year stint in the North Carolina Women’s Correctional Center. Her dream of a career in art is put on hold until a mysterious visitor makes her an offer that will see her released immediately. Her assignment: restore an old post office mural in a sleepy southern town. Morgan knows nothing about art restoration, but desperate to leave prison, she accepts. What she finds under the layers of grime is a painting that tells the story of madness, violence, and a conspiracy of small town secrets.
