COVID-19 UPDATE: PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT

March 25, 2020

Havre, Montana – Northern Montana Health Care (NMHC) has experienced a great community response to the request for fabric face masks. The masks have been coming in all weekend, and NMHC is so appreciative for the wonderful and proactive community members here on the Hi-line. These masks will be provided to patients still receiving essential imaging, labs, or clinic visits. Should anyone wish to join in on the making of these masks, patterns and instructions may be found under “Documents” on the Hospital webpage, http://www.NMHcare.org.

NMHC would like to remind everyone that while there are zero confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Hill County, Cascade County has announced 3 confirmed cases. NMHC is diligently watching other countries and states that are currently inundated with COVID-19 patients and are taking the initiative to start collecting supplies that are known to be in short supply in advance of needing them.

At this time, NMHC is reaching out to request other supplies that may be in storage, unused or possibly even outdated (within reason) throughout our community. Construction companies, tradesman, veterinarians, farmers/ranchers are all possible sources for this type of equipment. Without putting yourself, company or workers at risk, you are asked to donate any unused masks (preferably N95 or P95), gowns, suits, booties, hoods, gloves, safety glasses/goggles to NMHC. These items (and the previous requested fabric masks) can be delivered to a designated and labeled bin at the 2nd Floor Entrance (Emergency Department) of Northern Montana Hospital. We do ask that you place your name, address, phone number on them, as any unused items may be returned. If there are any questions, please reach out to Laura Thornton @ (406) 262-1557 or thorlaum@nmhcare.org.

NMHC would like to again, thank the community for all the support as they continue in their preparation to keep our community safe.
