Blaine County Producers are Busy Seeding

Blaine County producers are seeding at a feverish pace, trying to get all their crops planted in time. According to the USDA those crops being planted seen some increase and decrease over the course of the winter. Growers are expected to plant 20,000 more acres of corn as well as increasing Oats production by 5,000 acres. Early predictions see Barley being planted in an additional 90,000 acres which would mark the largest planting since 2003. Winter Wheat is expected to be down 400,000 acres while Durum is expected to increase by nearly 20,000 acres, and spring wheat by a whopping 400,000 acres, the most (3.3 million) since 2002.
