Shortman Appears on Hit TV Show "Yellowstone" in a Season 4 Episode

Jordan Shortman currently lives in Havre, attended junior high in Harlem, is an enrolled member of the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation and has also appeared on the hugely popular television show Yellowstone.

Shortman currently is employed by the United States Department of Homeland Security as part of a contracted security service. Recently Shortman, who is based in Havre, had to travel to Helena to fill in for another officer who was taking leave.

While in Helena he was approached and informed that the production of the hit TV show Yellowstone was looking for extras. Shortman filled out all the necessary applications and was notified about a week later that he was selected for a part.

Originally the production crews were looking for folks who lived right in Missoula, near the filming location. Shortman notified them that he was willing to travel and could be on set whenever he was needed.

Shortman had to take a COVID-19 test prior to appearing on set. Initially he was to play the part of a security guard at a casino but unfortunately his test results hadn't come back in time and he headed home.

After about an hour on the road he received word that he could take another test and appear in a different role if he was willing to return. Last week Shortman was on set as a deputy escorting one of the shows lead characters.

"It was an honor to be on set with a successful Native actor like Moses J. Brings Plenty and a privilege to be on set with a huge actor like Kevin Costner," said Shortman. "I was very proud, as a Native to be chosen to be represented on the show. I hope to get a call back to appear again before season four filming wraps up."

While Shortman never had a speaking role, the opportunity was quite an experience. The production covered the cost of both his COVID tests as well as mileage and a per diem to appear on the show as well. All in all, something he is more than willing to do again.
