Chinook Schools Will Implement Early Dismissal Fridays in November

October 28, 2020

Superintendent of Chinook Public Schools, Darin Hannum wishes to inform families and the community about the new early dismissal that will happen on

Fridays. Starting November 13, as approved by School District #10 School Board at the October 13 meeting, the district will implement an early-out every Friday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. for all students.

According to Hannum, the elementary and junior/senior high schools will coordinate morning classes and bus schedules, and lunch will be provided at both buildings before dismissal. Staff will remain in each of the buildings until the end of the regularly-scheduled school day to prepare for and complete additional duties that have arisen as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. Students will receive assignments to work on at home on those early-dismissal afternoons.

“The Friday early-out policy will be reviewed at the January board meeting in order to discuss its instructional efficacy,” Hannum said.

Hannum also encouraged anyone with questions regarding these schedule changes to contact the school office by calling Chinook High School: 352-2236 or Meadowlark Elementary: 357-2033.
