Meadowlark School Announces Fundraiser Winners

November 11, 2020

Meadowlark Elementary School celebrated last week when the results were in for the school fundraiser. On November 5, three kindergarten students received a Student Shout Out for raising the most funds in the Meadowlark Touchless Fundraiser.

First place went to Dax Langford, second place salesperson was Laval Inman, and third place honors were awarded to Christian Pitkanen. All three are in Mrs. Gibson's class, which made her class the highest in sales with over $5,000.00 generated. Miss Fouts' class was second with $2,573.00.

According to the school's Administrative Assistant Melissa Evans, the school raised $7,891.00 to help finance field trips and fall swimming lessons. "Thanks to our community, distance family and friends for supporting our school," she said. "Even though we only have 161 students enrolled, we still made about the same as we did last year with thirty fewer students!"

The school partners with Believe Kids Fundraising, which offers high-profit school fundraisers with prize tiers to motivate sellers. Typically the fundraiser is based on a door-to-door model in which students share a catalog of products, but with current health policies imposing limitations, the fundraiser was conducted in a virtual model and shopping took place online once students shared a link with friends, family, and community members.

Each of the outstanding salesmen will receive $100.00 gift card from Amazon, and the winning class will receive some kind of party/celebration at a later date. The students will get to decide whether that party will be a pizza party or a root beer float party.
