Harlem Library

November 18, 2020

The library board of trustees will hold their regular meeting today at 4:15 in the library meeting room.

The Book Challenge for November is to read a book about politics or government, either fiction on nonfiction.

We are excited to share a wonderful STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) resource for children and their families. Thanks to the American Society of Civil Engineers, STAR Net and its Project BUILD, we will be offering a free film screening of the documentary “Dream Big: Engineering Our World.” You can access the film within a 24 hour period on November 24th. Contact the library for the links and passcodes to view the film in the comfort of your own home.

The library will be closed Thursday, November 26 in observance of Thanksgiving Day.

This is the time of year when the Friends of the Library hold their annual membership drive and their annual Wine and Cheese Fundraiser. Due the Covid-19 pandemic the membership meeting and the fundraiser will not be held in the usual form. You may renew your membership or become a member by paying your dues to the Friends of the Harlem Public Library and dropping them off at the library or mail them to Valerie VanVoast, PO Box 172, Turner, MT 59542.

The Friends are seeking help to come up with fund raising projects adaptable to the Covid-19 guidelines. Your innovative ideas and input would be greatly appreciated. You may contact co-chairs Shirley Brockie 353-2716 or Sally O’Leary at 353-2329 for more information. Thank you for your continued support of the Harlem Public Library.

The Book Club meets on Mondays via Skype at 4 P.M. We are currently reading “The Fortune Hunter” by Daisy Goodwin. The link to join may be found on our Facebook page or library website http://www.harlempubliclibrary.org.

Virtual Story Time is held each Tuesday morning at 10 A.M. via Facebook Live. This fun time of stories, fingerplays and songs is geared for children ages 0-5 but all children and parents/caregivers are invited. Be sure to like Harlem Public Library’s Facebook page so you are able to watch.

The library has devices for check out to connect you with the internet. Mobile hotspots use cellular connection to access the internet. We also have iPads available for check out.
