Harlem Library

March 24, 2021

The Harlem Public Library board of trustees meets for their regular meeting today at 4:15 in the library meeting room.

The Book Club’s new selection “The Four Winds” by Kristin Hannah may be picked up this week. The first discussion via Skype will be Monday, March 29, 4 P.M.

The link may be found on the library website. Thanks to the Friends of the Harlem Public Library for purchasing this book kit.

Did you know the library has a notary on staff? Carly will be happy to notarize documents at no fee.

You still have time to take advantage of “Buy a Bag O’ Books!” During March you may purchase a grocery sack full of used books for only one dollar.

The Book Challenge this month is to read a nonfiction historical book or a historical fiction novel. We have a selection on display for you to choose from.

The library has Virtual Story Time for children each Tuesday at 10 A.M. on Facebook Live. Like our library Facebook page to be able to watch. Please join for stories, songs, fingerplays, and more!

The library is offering the program “1000 Books Before Kindergarten.” Parents/guardians are invited to register their infants, toddlers and preschoolers using the ReadSQUARED app or visit harlempubliclibrary.readsquared.com to get started. Children will receive a free board book from the library when they sign up. Prizes will be awarded as goals are met along the way. Call the library for more information.

A new Robert B. Parker book by Ace Atkins is “Someone to Watch Over Me.” The latest Preston & Child suspense novel is “The Scorpion’s Tail.” Bestselling author John Grisham’s new novel is “A Time for Mercy.”

A new selection set in Montana is “The Center of Everything” by Montana author Jamie Harrison. This generational saga “examines the human condition: the memories and touchstones that make up a life.”

“Don’t Turn Around” is the follow-up to Jessica Barry’s debut novel “Freefall.” Cait Monaghan and Rebecca McRae are on a desolate road in the New Mexican desert. They have never met before. Both have secrets to protect. Both of their lives are in danger.

Anthony Horowitz is the author of “Moonflower Murders.” With the brilliantly complex mystery with echoes of Agatha Christie, this tale keeps readers guessing with each revelation and clue.

“Keep Sharp: Build a Better Brain at Any Age” is by neurosurgeon and CNN chief medical correspondent Sanjay Gupta, MD

The library has free Wi-Fi available 24/7 both inside and outside the building. Come in to obtain the password.
