The Chinook Sugarbeeters, Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbirds and Turner Tornadoes were in Havre this past week at the Middle School Track for the District 9C Track and Field Meet while the Harlem Wildcats were in Wolf Point on Saturday for the District 2B Track and Field Meet. All four Blaine County teams performed very well on the Track and in the Field and all four will be represented at this weeks Northern B and C Divisional Meets in Glasgow and Great Falls.

To advance to the Divisional round in any sport means that you have performed at a level to raise the standard of competition around you and it is something that all high school thinclads should be proud of. The Chinook Sugarbeeters will send eight girls to the Northern C and they are: Senior Jayden Miller, junior Kinley Hamilton, sophomores Anna Terry, Aspyn Colby and Sasha Gallus, and Belle Elliot as well as freshman Hallie Neibauer, and Charlie McKee. The Turner girls squad will include senior Shyan Krass, junior Brandy Calvert, sophomore Dakota Krass and freshman Katie Kimmel Senior Jaedyn Chandler will represent the Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbirds.

The Sugarbeeter boys that will be in Great Falls competing at the Northern C are: Senior Damon Hannum, junior Toby Niederegger and sophomores Tyler Schoen, Braxton Inman, Levi Jensen and Brenden Fetter. The Thunderbird boys contingent will include senior Isaiah Denny, junior Vincent Chandler, sophomores Cash Messerly, Kaleb Walker and Daniel Henry.

The Harlem boys and girls teams will be well represented at the Northern B Divisional in Glasgow as well. The boys roster includes seniors Trent Main, Andrew Rasmussen, Zachery Kinyon, juniors Darrius Longknife and Mikkel Rider as well as sophomore Amari Stanley. The girls lineup includes senior Chloe Messerly, junior Taya Trottier, sophomore Keonna Medicine Bear and freshman Kaitlyn Johnson.

To earn their spot in the Divisional round these athletes turned in some high level efforts. Leading the way is Chinook junior Toby Niederegger who will compete in five events at the Northern C. Niederegger won the High Jump at the District 9C, clearing a personal best height of 6'3". That effort currently has him in the No. 2 spot in the entire Class C. Niederegger will also compete in the 100 Meter Dash, the 200 Meter Dash and both the long and short relays for the Sugarbeeters.

Sophomore Anna Terry captured gold in two events at the District 9C, winning both distance races. Terry completed the 1,600 in 5:57.60 to win by more than :22. Terry finished the 3,200 Meter Run in 13:15.80.

Senior Jayden Miller is headed to the Northern C where she will compete in four events, most notably the Discus. Miller topped the field in the Discus at the District 9C with a flip of 105'8". She will also compete in the Shot Put, Javelin and Triple Jump.

Freshman Hallie Neibauer will compete in five events for the Sugarbeeters. Neibauer finished second in the 800 Meter Run, third in both the 400 Meter Dash and the 200 Meter dash, fifth in the 100 Meter Dash and ran a leg on the 4x100 Meter Relay.

Sophomore Braxton Inman will also compete in five events for the Sugarbeeters. Inman finished second in the 200 Meters, ran a leg on both second place relay teams and will compete in the 300 Meter Hurdles and 400 Meter Dash as well.

Sophomore Tyler Schoen earned a runner up finish in the 200 Meter Dash, ran a leg on both the short and long relays and will also run the 400 Meters at the Northern C.

The Wildcats had two individual champions at the District 2B Track and Field Meet in Wolf Point this past Saturday. Freshman Kaitlyn Johnson won the 300 Meter Hurdles, breaking the tape in :51.37. Johnson also earned a pair of third place finishes Saturday afternoon in the 100 Meter and 400 Meter races. Sophomore Amari Stanley won the boys Triple Jump with a hop, skip and leap of 39'11.75". Stanley also finished fifth in the Long Jump and ran a leg on the 4x100 Meter Relay.

Senior Andrew Rasmussen will have a full plate at the Northern B in Glasgow competing in four events for the Wildcats. Rasmussen finished second in the Long Jump with an effort of 19'6". Rasmussen added a fourth place finish in the 100 Meter Dash as well as the 200 Meter Dash and also ran a leg on the 4x100 Meter Relay.

Junior Taya Trottier turned in another solid performance on the track for the Wildcats advancing to the Northern B in three events. Trottier in the 3,200 Meter Run and fifth in both the 800 and 1,600 Meter races.
