Everyone is invited to take part in the Summer Reading program “Tails and Tales!” Children may register at the library with a parent/guardian and adopt a stuffed animal friend and receive a free book. Throughout the months of June and July they may earn prizes for books read. Grand prizes will be awarded at the end of the program. Every Tuesday at 10 A.M. children may come to Story Time in the Park. Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian and bring a blanket to sit on.

The next Sidewalk STEAM for elementary students will be June 16 at 1 P.M. outside the library. Teens and adults may enter a drawing for each book read and have a chance to win a $50 gift card. Contact the library for more information.

The Book Challenge for June is to read a book set in the summer. We have a display of titles for you to choose from.

As you travel this summer be sure to take Wi-Fi with you. Check out a mobile hotspot from the library and connect to the internet anywhere there is cell service. You must be a registered patron in good standing for at least a month and be eighteen years or over. Hotspots may be checked out for fourteen days.

New books to check out this week include “Dark Horses” by Susan Mihalic. In this gripping debut novel teenage equestrian prodigy Roan Montgomery fights a fierce struggle to reclaim her life from her abusive father.

“The Bounty” is written by Janet Evanovich and Steve Hamilton. FBI agent Kate O’Hare and con man Nicholas Fox must face their most dangerous foe yet-an international organization known as the Brotherhood. The Brotherhood is on the search for a lost train loaded with $30 billion in Nazi gold in the mountains of Eastern Europe. There is only one man who can help Kate and Nick bring down the Brotherhood and he is Nick’s father, Quentin.

Stephen King is the author of “Later.” Jamie Conklin just wants an ordinary life. But he is born with an unnatural ability to see what no one else can see and learn what no one else can. World War II historical fiction novels include “The Kitchen Front” by Jennifer Ryan, “The Rose Code” by Kate Quinn, and “The Consequences of Fear” by Jacqueline Winspear.
