Harlem Library

June 16, 2021

Storytime in the Park had a great turnout last week! The Harlem Public Library invites children ages 0-5 and their families to join them Tuesdays at 10:00.

Children are invited to join in the "Tails and Tales" summer reading fun! Registration is still open for children of all ages and the Stuffed Animal Adoption event will continue through the month of June. Children are asked to bring a parent/guardian to the library to sign up and set a goal for the number of books they will read this summer. They earn prizes of gift certificates from local businesses as they reach goals, and they also earn chances to win the grand prize at the end of summer reading.

Each week on Tuesday at 10 A.M. come to Story Time in the Park. Bring a blanket and at least one parent/caregiver. Leave with a "take and make" craft project supplied by the library.

Sidewalk STEAM for elementary students is held outside the library every other Wednesday at 1 P.M. Come today and June 30, July 7 and July 21. Hear a story and check out a STEAM activity!

Teens and adults are not left out. Each time you finish reading a book this summer let the library know; and your name will be entered to win a $50 gift card at the conclusion of summer reading.

All books read for summer reading may be logged using the ReadSQUARED app or paper and pencil. See our website or call the library for more information.

Did you know you can access free Wi-Fi at the library 24/7? Just come in during operating hours to sign up for the password. The Wi-fi is available outside the library for those who wish to access the internet from their vehicle.

"The Lost Apothecary" is written by Sarah Penner. Caroline Parcewell finds an aged apothecary vial in the River Thames. Set in rural Montana in 1925 this story follows midwife Mildred Harrington as she grapples with her feelings for her old sweetheart Pat and the abuse she suffered as a young teenager.
