Harlem Elementary students form an iconic Mickey Mouse head with a heart in the center for their favorite music teacher, Mrs. Lynda Brown.

Every school year, Harlem Elementary School staff, students, families, and spectators report looking forward to the traditional Track and Field Day held during the final days of the school year. This year, because of COVID 19 protocols, the event had to be canceled.

However, some things just can't be stopped. Every student from kindergarten to sixth grade, including all staff members, wore color-coded t-shirts and formed a message in the middle of the football field to capture their feelings for the school year.

According to a school spokesperson, this year's message is especially important as the students also wanted to do something unique for a cherished music teacher, Mrs. Lynda Brown. Given that Brown favors all things Disney-with a special fondness for Mickey Mouse-it was decided to send get well wishes in the form of a giant Mickey Mouse head with a heart in the center.

After creating the image, the students waved and shouted in unison a heartfelt, "Hello, Mrs. Brown." The spirited scene was captured and shared virtually with Brown.

Many of the students and staff at Harlem Elementary continue to send gratitude and caring messages enclosed in Mickey Mouse envelopes, stamped with appreciation and affection for Brown.
