Ice Cream?---- Hello God, it's me, Mara

You know, Lord, when one thinks about Dairy Products, we might wonder which are the most important for the well-being of the human body. Just ask anybody, and they’ll perhaps say that Ice Cream is probably the most favorite of all dairy products. Of ice cream, it’s been said that it is: cool, creamy, refreshing, and comforting. Like a gentle prairie breeze, clear skies, warm sunshine, ice cream sweeps over one – it is healthy, refreshing and relaxing.
In a spiritual way, Lord, Your Word is like that, too, refreshing and relaxing, only more so. When one is hot and bothered, there is calmness and coolness found in your Word. Creaminess is richness. That is found in Your Word also as we read and contemplate: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matt. 5:3 – Sermon on the mount).
When someone is weary and thirsty, that dear one needs to be refreshed, Lord. You said, “If a man is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.” (John 7:37). As something wet and cool refreshes one physically and is able to assuage thirst, so we can experience streams of living water by accepting Your invitation to come to You.
You know while visiting various places and traveling throughout planet earth, that is not always comforting; but one only needs to read Your Word, Lord, and comfort can be found there. It has been said that there is just something special about ice cream. One should note that there truly is something about Your Name, Lord; which is much better by far, than ice cream, and in a way that really counts. We welcome the month of June where heaven sometimes feels that it’s nearer to us than lovely clouds sailing across the sky.
