Chinook in Sidney, Harlem in Choteau, Divisionals in Lewistown this Weekend

Chinook Lions Swimmers Katie Tilleman, Brockton Elliot and Daniel Tilleman all brought home High Point Trophies from their swim meet in Sidney. Katie won all three of her individual events to win top honors in the 11-12 age group. Brockton and Daniel were part of a three way tie atop the boys 13-14 division with each winning two events while finishing third in the other.

The regular season of the Montana Federation of Swimmers summer schedule concluded this past weekend with the Chinook Lions Swim Team competing in Sidney and the bulk of the Harlem Swim Team in Choteau. Both teams now turn their attention to the Eastern Divisional Swim Meet in Lewistown this coming weekend. The top 12 swimmers in each event will then qualify for the state swim meet in Columbia Falls July 31 - August 1.

Harlem's Shayne Stiffarm has had a spectacular season, winning the boys 13-14 High Point trophy all but one week. That being said, sometimes the best are really, really good. This past Saturday and Sunday in Choteau Stiffarm proved just how good.

Stiffarm won the 200 Meter Individual Medley in pool record setting time, completing the four disciplines in 2:44.05. Sunday began with stiffarm adding his second pool record of the weekend, winning the 50 Meter Butterfly with a time of :31.17. He capped his weekend swim off with yet another pool record, this time in the 100 Meter Butterfly, clocking in at 1:11.14.

In Sidney the Chinook Lions had a trio of swimmers bring home High Point Trophies. Katie Tilleman captured the girls 11-12 top honor while Brockton Elliot and Daniel Tilleman finished in a three way tie for the boys 13-14 High Point.

Katie won all three of her individual swims, each in dominate fashion. She began her Sunday final swims with a first place finish in the 50 Meter Freestyle, touching the wall in :29.81. Her second win of the day came a short time later when she won the 50 Meter Breaststroke with an effort of :39.03. In her third and final swim, Katie captured gold in the 50 Meter Backstroke with a time of :37.28.

Daniel and Brockton each won two events while earning a runner up finish in the third in the boys 13-14 age group. Daniel won the 100 Meter Freestyle, completing the four lengths of the pool in 1:01.94. Later he added a first place finish in the 200 Meter Freestyle with a time of 2:20.31. In the 50 Meter Freestyle Tilleman finished second with an effort of :27.26. Brockton won the 50 Meter Butterfly hitting the touch pad in :31.51 to win the event. Later Elliot added a win in the 100 Meter Butterfly clocking in at 1:15.31. Brockton finished second in the 200 Meter Freestyle with an effort of 2:23.32.

Tyler Stephens won the boys 8 and Under 25 Meter Freestyle (:18.30) for the Lions in Sidney. Harlem's Ciana Johnson won the girls 9-10 100 Meter Freestyle (1:21.81) and the 50 Meter Backstroke (:46.51) in Choteau.
