Thunderbirds Continue to Show Improvement

The Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbirds have shown progress and much improvement to start the season. After finally taking the court in week four of the season, Hays/Lodge Pole has shown to be a much more competitive team.

Friday the girls held their own against the Sugarbeeters and on Saturday the Thunderbirds were in Gildford taking part in the North Star Showcase.

Hays/Lodge Pole competed in the Gildford Pool along with Chester/Joplin-Inverness, Great Falls Central, Centerville, Shelby JV and North Star JV.

The Thunderbirds began the day with a 30-27 win over the Shelby Coyotes. In match number two the Thunderbirds took on Chester/Joplin-Inverness and never got anything going in a 30-12 setback to the Hawks.

The Thunderbirds strung together some clutch points down the stretch in a 30-28 win over the Centerville Miners.

In their fourth match the Thunderbirds took down the North Star JV 30-17. Hays/Lodge Pole closed out pool play with a 30-22 setback to Great Falls Central to finish fourth in the pool. The Thunderbirds finished eighth in the tournament out of 12 teams.
