February is “Love Your Library Month!” Each time you check out materials or sign in to use the internet during the month your name will be entered to win a prize.

Adults may win a gas card from Ezzie’s and a free book. Children may win a Magic School Bus Space Game and a free book.

The Book Challenge for February is to read a book with a red spine. If you have completed the January Book Challenge please contact the library so your name may be entered to win a gift certificate from a local business.

Book Club members may pick up the new selection “The Alice Network” by Kate Quinn this week. The first discussion will be Monday, February 7, 4 P.M. in the library meeting room.

Carly will be at the Turner Christian Church for Story Time today, Wednesday, Feb. 2 at 9:30. Parents/caregivers are invited to bring little ones ages 0-5 for a time of stories, songs, and play.

The latest novel by Mitch Albom is “The Stranger in the Lifeboat.” A group of shipwrecked passengers cry out to God to save them. When they pull a strange man from the water he says he can save them all, but only if they believe in him.

“Flying Angels” is the latest work by Danielle Steel. Six remarkable flight nurses are brought together to face the many heartbreaks and victories of WWII.

Wanda M. Morris is the author of “All Her Little Secrets.” In this debut thriller, Ellice Littlejohn, a black lawyer, gets caught in a dangerous conspiracy after the sudden death of her boss.

“Small World” is by Jonathan Evison. This epic novel chronicles 170 years of American nation-building from the California gold rush, the development of the transcontinental railroad, to modern-day speeding rail travel. The characters connect to others through time, winning and breaking readers’ hearts.

The new Scarpetta novel by Patricia Cornwell is “Autopsy.” “The Intruders” is a large-type western by William W. Johnstone. Meg Waite Clayton is the author of the historical fiction novel “The Postmistress of Paris.”

The state library is using ARPA funds to make available free extra services within the Libby app from now until December 2022. “The Great Courses” are lectures by professors and professionals on a variety of subjects from history to science to better living and much more. “Method Test Prep” helps students prepare for the ACT and SAT tests. “Universal Class” offers lifelong learning courses in over 30 subject areas that can be audited or taken for continuing education credits. You may find these using the Libby app or at libbyapp.com. You will need your library card number that we can provide when you contact the library.
