Youth Are Encouraged to Act Up with Montana Actors' Theatre

June 15, 2022

June 27-30 will see the crew from Montana Actors’ Theatre (MAT) working with KidsMAT campers in Harlem at the high school. Chinook’s camp will occur next month at Sweet Memorial Park in Chinook from July 18-21.

MAT is offering a performing arts summer camp experience for children ages 5-15. The team invites Blaine County youth to sign up for one of these KidsMAT experiences.

According to Marketing Director Andi Daniel, people can register online at mtactors.com/kidsmat/ for Chinook’s camp, but they need to call Jay Pyette (406-945-0272) or email him (Jay@mtactors.com) to sign up for Harlem’s. Campers can also register and pay fees on the first day of camp.

According to Youth Activities Director, Angela Pratt, campers will learn all aspects of theater production, including story and script development, costuming, and technical aspects.

Although youth must bring a sack lunch each day, other snacks will be provided. Registration fees include a t-shirt and water bottle. Hours are Monday-Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., and the experience will culminate in a short production on Thursday evening.

Anyone interested in additional information or to request a scholarship should contact Pratt via email (angela@mtactors.com) or by phone (406-390-2729).
